Pasta is a staple in many households and there are so many ways to prepare it. One of my favorites is with sausage and spinach in a delicious tomato sauce. It's hearty, flavorful and perfect for a weeknight dinner. I recently stumbled upon a recipe for it and I just had to try it out. Here's how I made it. To start, I gathered all of my ingredients. I needed Italian sausage, onion, garlic, canned tomatoes, tomato paste, chicken broth, pasta, spinach, and some seasonings like basil and oregano. After heating up some oil in a large pot, I added my sausage and browned it. Then, I added in my onion and garlic and cooked them until they were translucent. Next, I poured in my canned tomatoes, tomato paste, and chicken broth. I stirred it all together and let it simmer for a few minutes to let the flavors meld. While the sauce was simmering, I cooked my pasta according to the package instructions. Once the pasta was cooked, I drained it and set it aside. Once the sauce had simmered for a bit, I added in my spinach and let it wilt. Then, I added in my cooked pasta and stirred it all together. I topped it off with some grated Parmesan cheese and some fresh parsley. The result was absolutely delicious. The sausage added a nice meaty flavor while the spinach and tomato sauce gave it a nice fresh taste. The pasta was perfectly cooked and absorbed all of the flavors from the sauce. I served it with some garlic bread and a side salad and it was the perfect meal. Another sausage pasta recipe that caught my eye was an Italian sausage pasta skillet. This recipe featured penne pasta, Italian sausage, bell pepper, onion, and a creamy tomato sauce. It looked absolutely delicious and I couldn't wait to try it out. To make the recipe, I first cooked my penne pasta according to the package instructions. While the pasta was cooking, I browned my Italian sausage in a large skillet. Once the sausage was cooked, I added in my bell pepper and onion and cooked them until they were soft. Next, I poured in my tomato sauce and a bit of cream. I let it simmer for a few minutes to allow the sauce to thicken. Once the sauce was the desired consistency, I added in my cooked pasta and stirred it all together. To finish off the dish, I topped it with some grated Parmesan cheese and some fresh parsley. It was absolutely delicious and had a nice creamy and spicy flavor. Overall, these two sausage pasta recipes were winners in my book. They were hearty, flavorful, and perfect for a weeknight dinner. I can't wait to make them again and try out some variations.
