- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
Once you've got everything ready, it's time to cook. Start by cooking your penne pasta according to the package instructions. While your pasta cooks, heat up some oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add your sliced sausage and cook until browned, then remove from the skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, add your diced onions, bell peppers, and minced garlic. Sauté the veggies until they've softened and the onions have turned translucent. Then, add your shrimp to the skillet and cook until they've turned pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside with the sausage.
Reduce the heat to low and add your butter to the skillet. Once the butter has melted, sprinkle in your paprika, cumin, oregano, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Stir everything together until fragrant.
Pour in your heavy cream and grated parmesan cheese, whisking together until everything is well combined. Let the sauce simmer for a few minutes until it's thick enough to coat the back of a spoon.

Now that your sauce is ready, it's time to combine everything together. Start by adding your cooked penne pasta to the skillet with the sauce. Toss everything together until the pasta is well coated in the creamy Cajun sauce.
Next, add your cooked sausage, shrimp, and any juices that have collected on the plate. Gently toss everything together until everything is well combined and heated through.
